Clive Owen admits he had 'huge part' to play in Amanda split

Beyond the Yorkshire Farm with Clive and Reuben was off to a rocky start as dad Clive Owen made a heartbreaking comment.

The Channel 5 star is appearing alongside his son Reuben on the Our Yorkshire Farm spin-off, which has been repeating on the network this month. In 2022, he and wife Amanda Owen called it quits on their marriage after 22 years, with Clive landing his own spin-off show with Amanda snubbed.

But in a teaser for what fans can expect from the series, Clive discussed his son's decision to start a digging company after completing an apprenticeship.

Right at the beginning of the episode, Reuben told his dad: "With my new business, I could do with your help on a few things."

And Clive joked back: "I’m here by your side whenever I’m wanted. And sometimes when I’m not wanted!"

It comes after Clive admitted he “behaved badly” in his split from Amanda, admitting to ITV Lorraine host Christine Lampard: “It was amazing and successful, I handled it very badly. It was such a change in our life and I sadly made a right mess of things basically and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending."

He stepped back from social media after their split, telling viewers: “It's a tough time for Amanda now and so I thought it was only right, I don't do social media or any of that so I sort of disappear."

The star went on to say: “One of the things I hear is 'poor Clive' and I feel that isn't right. We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and the plan, Amanda's plan was we don't own the farm but this is security. We had this plan to make it more secure as a family so that's what drove her, it was amazing and successful.
